The target revenue function is a powerful tool for performance improvement and revenue optimization. Through clear visualization in the calendar and automatic calculation of target values, it supports you in sustainably promoting the individual sales performance of your employees.
First, define the desired hourly revenue per employee. Based on the stored working hours, the system automatically calculates the corresponding daily revenue target. In the calendar, both the revenue resulting from scheduled appointments and the defined revenue target are then presented side by side for easy comparison.
Benefits of the Target Revenue Function
Increased motivation: Clear, measurable goals promote performance and initiative.
Transparency in daily work: Target and actual values are visible directly in the calendar.
Easy planning: Automatic calculation of daily targets saves time and reduces sources of error.
Promotion of additional sales: Employees are specifically encouraged to offer additional services or products.
Real-time performance overview: Progress can be continuously tracked and evaluated.
Best Practice
Set realistic but ambitious goals.
Check target values regularly and adjust them as needed.
Use the calendar's transparency for motivating feedback conversations.
Combine the target revenue function with sales promotions or incentives.
When a customer brings a voucher, you can redeem it via the cash register system.
To redeem vouchers you need at least one identification feature:
1. The consecutive voucher number
Please then verify at least one additional feature to prevent misuse. For example, whether the issue date matches the issue date stored in the system. 2. The online voucher code
This can also be used in the search field when entering the voucher number.
Enter at least 3 characters of the voucher number. For example: "004" for the voucher with the number 2018-0000004. If the voucher is not yet stored in the Belbo system, you can store the old voucher. If the voucher was purchased at another location, you can also access it here (see corresponding section below).
Select the voucher and check the issue date of the voucher.
The dialog box shows you the voucher value and the price of the service to be charged. Enter the desired redemption amount in the voucher field (a reasonable value is already pre-filled).
In case of a remaining value, it is mandatory that a new voucher is issued on which the voucher number is noted. The original voucher must be retained for the records.
After completion, issue the remaining value voucher if applicable.
Redeem another voucher for the same cash transaction
If your customer has 2 or more vouchers that are to be redeemed during the same cash transaction, you must record this correctly. After redeeming the first voucher, you will see the overview page with the payment methods offered by you. To add a second voucher, proceed as follows:
Click on the payment method "Vouchers"
Enter the voucher code and repeat the steps described under "Process for voucher redemption:" starting from step 4.
Remaining payment with another payment method
If the redeemed voucher is not sufficient for the service used, the remaining amount is paid with another payment method. After redeeming the first voucher, you will see the overview page with the payment methods offered by you. If the customer pays the remaining amount with another payment method, proceed as follows:
Click on the desired payment method (for example "card payment" or "cash")
Enter the amount paid with this payment method (a reasonable value is pre-filled).
If you want to add another payment method, repeat step 2.
Application example:
Your customer has booked a service worth €100 and wants to use a voucher worth €50 for redemption. She pays the remaining €50 in cash.
Redeem vouchers from other locations
If you have multiple locations, you can redeem vouchers across locations.
Proceed as described above up to step 3.
Enter the voucher number and pay attention to the tabs which show the other locations, see image.
Select the location and the desired voucher.
Continue as described above.
Record voucher remaining value as a tip
If your customer pays by voucher and wants to give you part or all of the remaining voucher value as a tip, you can record this in Belbo.
Click on the payment method "Vouchers" in the cash transaction as usual and enter the voucher number.
Select "Redeem voucher" on the customer's voucher.
Then enter the amount actually paid (including the tip) and click on "Use voucher". The entered value must of course not exceed the value of the voucher.
The service is paid and the remainder is recorded as cash from the register.
Now take the displayed amount from the cash register and deposit the money in the tip jar of the employee who should receive the tip.
Application example:
Your customer has booked a service worth €80. She has a voucher worth €100 and wants to give €20 as a tip. Learn how to record this in our video:
If you use the Belbo cash register system, you must sell vouchers as follows. To sell vouchers, click "Sell voucher" in the checkout process. You can then select the corresponding pre-configured voucher.
When using the cash register system, it is not permitted to create the sold vouchers in the voucher module.
Voucher sales
Start the checkout process for walk-in customer or appointment customer.
Select "Sell voucher" or enter the name of the voucher in the search field. Set the value of the voucher.
To speed up the checkout process, you can already see the voucher number here, which can be noted on the pre-printed forms if necessary. Please sign the voucher and voucher number, add a stamp and date with time to guarantee authenticity.
If a print template has been created, the voucher can now be printed. However, it is only valid after the checkout process is completed.
Normal checkout process.
Example of a voucher sale during the checkout process:
In the invoice design, you can define how your receipts and invoices are formatted.
You can access this area via Settings > Invoice Design
If this function is not enabled, it can be activated via "Settings > Add Function".
Invoice Elements
Enter your company's key data here. If not specified otherwise, the location address will be used. Only fill in this field if your location address differs from the address of the invoice issuer shown on the invoices.
Receipt Design
Logo
You can upload a logo here. Logo graphics should be black and white and have high contrast so your receipt printer can display them correctly.
Receipt Header
If you want to display additional information in the header area of the receipt, you can enter it here. In addition to freely selectable text, you can also use text placeholders. If you use the text placeholders "Customer Name" or the customer's address fields, this data will be taken from the customer file. The prerequisite for this is that you have created these customer fields in the customer settings and your staff fills them in carefully. You can find instructions on creating and integrating this data here.
Receipt Footer
If you want to display additional information in the footer area of the receipt, you can enter it here. At this point, for example, you can draw attention to online booking or current promotions.
Receipt Structure
You can design the appearance of your receipt yourself. You can learn more about receipt structure here. Please note that this is a complex setup. If used improperly, receipts may not be able to be printed.
A4 Invoices
In principle, a receipt is available for each invoice, which can be issued via your receipt printer. In addition, you can create invoices in A4 format. Once this function is enabled, you will receive a new button in the cash register, through which you can send A4 invoices as PDF either by email to the customer or print them on a suitable printer.
If you offer the payment method "Invoice", you can store a custom invoice footer for this payment method. Here you can enter your bank details and further payment instructions. This information will only be printed on the invoice if the customer pays by invoice. If another payment method is selected (e.g. "Cash" or "Card"), the footer you entered under "A4 Invoice Footer" will be used.
Email
If you want to send A4 invoices to your customers, you can trigger email delivery during the checkout process. The email text is a standard text.
If you want to write your own text, you can do so under Settings > Invoice Design > Email. Here too, you can use placeholders to insert, for example, the customer name.
You can download detailed cash register documentation here.
In combination with your Belbo Box, you can now print receipts fully automatically.
For more information about the Belbo Box, please visit here.
Receipt Width
Here you can specify how many characters your receipt printer can display side by side. The optimal width depends on your receipt printer. First try a width of approximately 30 characters and then determine the correct width for your device through test prints.
With automatic cash balance, you can automate cash withdrawal at each daily closing. This should only be done if you deposit money daily to the bank or into an envelope in a safe.
If the same amount remains in your cash register daily after closing, you can activate the "Automatic cash withdrawal at daily closing" function.
Set the amount under "Target cash balance" that remains in the cash register and define a target account. The target account is the account to which the money is posted. It is never the cash account.
You can properly record tips regardless of whether they are given in cash, by card payment, or with the voucher balance. With this function, tips paid by card can be recorded.
Please discuss with your tax office which of your employees need to pay taxes on their tips.
You can access this area via Settings > Tip Rules
If this function is not enabled, it can be activated via "Settings > Add Function".
Set Up Tip Rules
Record tip: Set the account here to which tip payments made by card should be recorded. Once you set an account here, tip payments will be shown on daily and monthly statements as well as in the DATEV export (see below). Please use a tip account that has been explicitly confirmed by your tax office, which may need to be created in your own chart of accounts. We would be happy to support you in setting this up.
Keep tip in cash register: This function controls the timing and method of payment of tips to your employees.
Disabled (Default): The system assumes that tips are immediately withdrawn in cash from the register and handed to the employee. The cash balance is reduced accordingly.
Enabled ("Do not remove tip from register"): The tip remains physically and mathematically in the cash register or in the business account.
Use case: Use this option if you collect tips and pay them out to the team in bulk (e.g., at the end of the month via transfer with payroll).
In the daily and monthly statements, you can see how much tip you received. If you want to distinguish between different employees, please create separate tip accounts for each employee (see menu item "Overview")!
Change for card payment: Specify whether overpayments should be withdrawn from the register. In this case, the amount to be withdrawn will be displayed in the payment process and must be taken from the register by the employee. You can find more information about this further down on this page.
Enabled ("Always record overpayment for card payment as tip"): If a customer pays a higher amount by card than the service costs (e.g., €55 instead of €50), Belbo automatically recognizes the difference of €5 as a tip.
No "change" is paid out in cash.
Disabled:
If this option is not active, the remaining amount is recorded as a tip for both cash and card payments.
Overview
Check the box in the overview for people whose tips must be taxed.
If you wish, you can assign individual tip accounts to individual employees.
Tips
In the "Tips" menu item you will find an overview of all tips received.
Record Tips via Card Payment
If tips are also paid by card or credit card in your business, these can be properly recorded in Belbo.
Click on the desired card payment method in the payment method selection.
Enter the actual amount paid including tip in the number field.
Click the green confirmation button.
Subsequently, the tip paid must be withdrawn from the cash register!
In the cash system, the tip is withdrawn from the cash register, so the evening's cash balance accounts for the tip withdrawal.
Tip Payments on Daily and Monthly Statements
If an account has been entered in the tip function, tip payments will also be shown on the statements.
