The Star TSP printer by Star Micronics is generally supported by Belbo. However, this model is not a standard model and differs significantly from the mPOP series. The setup is therefore sometimes not entirely intuitive. Here we describe how to proceed.
Windows
You definitely need the current driver (version > 7.7) "TSP100 futurePRNT Software Setup", otherwise it will not be supported by current Windows versions. This driver allows you to use most of the functions (via ESC/POS mode) that are also available to you with an Epson printer or the mPOP. With Belbo you now have 2 options for "setup":
- Either: You select the printer type "mPOP" - then you can choose different fonts and maintain formatting in the receipt. Note: Images and QR codes will no longer work and will produce very long printouts.
- Or: You select the type "Star TSP". Then an image can be stored in your receipt, but it will be ignored and you will have no other formatting options.
MacOS
The installation is very simple, however, the standard printer does not provide the "ESC/POS" mode and therefore you cannot access the formatting and font options in the receipt. In general, we therefore do not recommend the TSP 100 for MacOS.
