Star TSP Printer Setup

The Star TSP printer from Star Micronics is generally supported by Belbo. However, this model is not a standard model and differs significantly from the mPOP series. Setup can therefore be somewhat unintuitive. Here we describe how to proceed.

Windows

You will definitely need the current driver (version > 7.7) "TSP100 futurePRNT Software Setup", as it will otherwise not be supported by current Windows versions. This driver enables you to use most of the functions (via ESC/POS mode) that are also available with an Epson printer or the mPOP. In Belbo, you now have 2 options for "setup":

  • Either: You select the printer type "mPOP" - then you can choose various fonts and maintain formatting in the receipt. Attention: Images and QR codes will no longer work and will produce very long printouts.
  • Or: You select the type "Star TSP". Then an image can be stored in your receipt, but it will be ignored and you will have no other formatting options.

MacOS

Installation is very simple, however, the standard printer does not provide "ESC/POS" mode and you therefore cannot use the formatting and font options in the receipt. In general, we therefore do not recommend the TSP 100 for MacOS.
